Swagbucks Tip #4 : Receipt Upload

What is Swagbucks?

Update: This has since been extended to the United Kingdom! Read about it here.

I’ve just discovered via Twitter that Swagbucks allow you to upload your receipts for SBs via the “Answer” smartphone app. Unfortunately, it’s only available in the US and Canada at the moment so I can’t use it but it sounds like a good way to make a few extra SBs.

Does anyone use this service? Do you think it’s worthwhile?

Job Spotter

Summary

Update 2: Due to the coronovirus pandemic JobSpotter have suspended operations. More details are available here.

Update: unfortunately the sign verification feature has now been removed. However, the rest of the app still works as before.

Note: Links may award me referral rewards such as in-app points or money.

Job Spotter is an app which allows you to submit photographs of job adverts in the windows of businesses. These are submitted for points which can be exchanged for Amazon vouchers. You can also earn for verifying the submissions of other people.

I love this app; it’s fun and can be quite lucrative!

Spring Team Challenge now live on Swagbucks

may-flowers-team-challenge

If you’re unfamiliar with Swagbucks, I discuss it in much more detail in my blog article.

This event has now finished.

The Swagbucks Spring team challenge is now available. Once signed up here, you will be allocated to a team and you can begin earning points. If you earn 600 or more points over the course of the event you’ll receive a reward, with the reward you receive depending on how well your team as a whole performed. The Swagbucks team describe it as follows:

All members who participate and contribute at least 600 points to their team’s total will receive a SB bonus in the form of a SB Swag Up Rebate! Members of the 1st place team will receive a 100 SB Swag Up Rebate, members of the 2nd place team will receive a 50 SB Swag Up Rebate, members of the 3rd place team will receive a 25 SB Swag Up Rebate, and members of the 4th place team will receive a 10 SB Swag Up Rebate. The Swag Up Rebate will be made available on May 21st and expires on June 2nd at 7:59AM BST

You can accrue points in the following ways:

Swagbucks Tip #3 : Sniping

If you’re unfamiliar with Swagbucks, I discuss it in much more detail in my blog article.

If your experience is anything like mine you’ll likely be rejected from a fairly large percentage of the Swagbucks surveys you take part in. Personally, I don’t think this is necessarily such a bad thing.

Unless explicitly marked, all surveys which reject you will pay out a number of Swagbucks in line with the amount of time you spent completing the survey. If you get screened out pretty much straight away you’ll receive 1 SB.

Sniping 1 Swagbuck

I try to use this high incidence of rejection to my advantage by “sniping” Swagbucks. This involves getting my phone out while on my way somewhere or when bored and entering surveys. If I’m lucky I can make a few Swagbucks in very little time and then carry on with my day.

Of course, you could find yourself accepted into the main survey at which point you have to decide whether you have the time and inclination to complete it.

This obviously won’t make you rich but they do add up and supplement your regular activities (surveys, games, shopping etc).

Fitplay

Summary

Note: Links may award me referral rewards such as in-app points or money.

Update: The minimum payout amount has risen from 50p to £1 since this article was written.

If you’ve read my review of App Flame then this review will seem extremely familiar. That’s because it’s essentially the same app but with different branding.

Fitplay is one of many apps available on Android which reward you with tokens for playing games. These tokens can then be exchanged for PayPal payments, Amazon vouchers and a number of other rewards.

The games available tend to change fairly often but you will still be able to earn tokens for playing previously offered games provided you have already downloaded and linked the game to your Fitplay account.

As with App Flame you earn a signup reward of 5555 tokens when you sign up which means that you generally only need to play for a fairly short time to earn a 50p payout (available at 6399 tokens).

Fitplay is great if you get lucky and find something you love playing, but if the games you find are not to your taste then I think it’s probably not worthwhile continuing as the payout is so low.

Swagbucks Tip #1 : Keep some Swagbucks for events

Note: Links may award me referral rewards such as in-app points or money.

If you’re unfamiliar with Swagbucks, I discuss it in much more detail in my blog article.

The Swagbucks team periodically release Swago boards which allow you to earn additional Swagbucks usually fairly easily. It’s often the case that one of the squares requires you to redeem a gift card. Keeping some Swagbucks in your account allows you to easily fulfil what would otherwise be one of the more difficult squares to complete.

The Easter 2019 Swago Board

I discuss the most recent Swago event (now finished) here.

Another, potentially bigger reason to keep some handy is for when Swagbucks augment a game of Swago with their “Spin and Win”. Spins are earned by completing squares on the Swago board. There are often “rebates” offered where you get a certain number of Swagbucks back when redeeming a gift card. If you’re lucky enough to win several rebates you can use them to make your Swagbucks stretch further. These rebates tend to expire within a few days so unless you’ve stored a cache for events you may not be able to use all of your available rebates.

Lucky Rose

Summary

Note: Links may award me referral rewards such as in-app points or money.

Lucky Rose is an Android app whose main attraction is that it allows you to win real money by playing free scratch cards and other mini games.

Personally, I didn’t find the games available particularly engaging.

More importantly, I’ve read many reviews which claim that if you reach an amount valid for payout the app prevents you from withdrawing so I’d recommend probably giving this app a miss.

Swagbucks

Summary

Note: Links may award me referral rewards such as in-app points or money.

Swagbucks is one of the longest running reward websites. It has its own digital currency, unsurprisingly called Swagbucks, which you can earn in a very large number of ways. This currency can then be redeemed for cash or gift cards.

More: Swagbucks Hints and Tips

More like this: Treasure Trooper

The main ways of earning currency are:

  • Watching Videos
  • Answering surveys
  • Shopping
  • “Discovering” products and services
  • Web searches

You can also upload your receipts to earn additional currency – although I can’t take part in this myself as it’s not currenly available in the UK.

The Swagbucks team offer an associated mobile app on Android and iOS, and also offer the SwagButton which is a browser extension that gives easy access to each of the main categories and alerts you if a particular website offers Swagbucks on sign up or purchase.

Interested in making money playing games? Many more reviews available here.

Summary

Mistplay is a service which pays you for playing games. At the time of writing it’s only available for Android devices.

You longer you play, the more Units you earn which can be exchanged for gift vouchers or prepaid virtual Visa cards.

I have found that you don’t make a lot of money but some of the games are fun and earning Units can be a nice side effect of playing. I can confirm that Mistplay does pay out as I’ve obtained several Amazon vouchers from them.
